Operational Safety

IPTF commenced its commercial operation from March 1st 2015.

  • All Operation and Maintenance related activities are carried out as per defined and established norms. Various SOPs & SMPs are well defined and implemented with provisions for improvement and updation as and when required.
  • We have qualified & experienced O&M Staff operating round the clock. All O&M Staff are trained on the O&M Philosophy and are certified on Basic Firefighting and Basic First Aid.
  • Emergency Response Plan is prepared and training is imparted to all O & M staff.
  • We are certified with latest Integrated Management System (IMS) for ISO 9001:2015 for Quality, ISO 14001: 2015 Environment Protection and OHSAS 18001: 2007 for Operational Safety.

Fire Fighting Facilities

 Fire Pump House

  • 3 nos. Diesel Operated Fire Water Pumps installed each with the capacity of 1,000 m3/ hr. at 10 bar discharge pressure. Out of these three, two pumps are in service to meet total fire water demand and one pump stand in conformation to NFPA 20.
  • 1 no Electrical Jockey pump of 300 M3/ hr. capacity to maintain fire water header pressure of 10 bar.
  • The Fire water tank (FTK-01) is a fixed roof, Cone type, Atmospheric tank of carbon steel. The basic parameters of this tank is as follows :-
  • Diameter: 20 m; Height: 15 m; Capacity: 4100 m3
  • Fire water tank is always kept full with fresh water.
  • In the worst case scenario (full Surface fire on the largest tank 101), 2 nos. fire water pumps of 1,022 m3/hr. will operate to meet the total fire water demand.
  • Capacity of fire water tank is so designed to provide continuous firefighting operation for 2 hrs.

Fire Hydrants

  • Fire water Hydrants are provided all along the periphery of the Tank farm at 60 m c/c. The fire water lines remains charged with 7 bar pressure.

Fire Hose Cabinets

  • FHC are installed at regular intervals near each fire hydrant which is equipped with
  • 2 Nos. of 30 meter, 2.5” dia. quick coupling Fire hoses
  • 2 Nos. Jet/ Spray nozzles and
  • 1 No of Foam Branch pipe

ESD – Emergency Shut down

  • An Emergency Shut down (ESD) system is provided near each facility. In case of any Emergency like fire or tank leakage, the authorized person shall activate the ESD which shall close all the MOVs of tanks and trip the motors of all the rotary items and packages.

MCP

  • Safety Showers with Eye wash station, are installed in the Terminal at noticeable locations near loading bay, Tank Farm, Pump manifold and PLR (Pig Launcher & Receiver).

Safety Shower

  • Manual Call Points and sounders are installed around Tank farm (Outside Bund wall), Manifold, Truck Loading bay, Utility area, VFD area, Substation, Heating System. These MCP & sounder are connected to Central Fire Alarm Control Panel.
